Lockhard's Miss Millie is a dainty tomboy, quick and graceful in the field, and loving and obedient in the house. She has the perfect blend of a bird and family dog. Her quiet disposition and exquisite hunting abilities were evident in her first litter in 2005—all puppies were sold locally and we've been fortunate to follow their progress closely. Happy Families

The puppies turned 8 weeks old on January 8. We are happy that all were placed in good hunting homes.

Pups started going to their new homes on 12/26/06 (4 photos).

Personalities

#1, SOLD - "Knickers" is petite, but feisty, and mixes it up with the rest of the girls. Lots of energy in this little pup! We hope to see her often because she lives right around the corner in Hamilton City and will hunt Chukar in Susanville.

#2, SOLD -"Target" is calm, quiet, and most active of the boys. His symmetrical markings are beautiful. First chosen, he lives in in Folsom with Mark and Odys.

#3, SOLD - "Art" or "Cody" is the heartiest eater, laidback, and watches everything that's going on. He will be a goodlooking dog with his patchwork markings. First to show a point! Now known as Lockhard's Baron, he will soon be living in Magalia.

#4, SOLD - "Wishbone," named for the white mark on her nose, is loveable, not timid, and holds her own with the girls. She was the surprise Christmas present for a hunter in Chico and is now known as Lockhard's Emma Lou.

#5, SOLD - "Alpha," is the fastest maturing pup. She is energetic, sleeps least, is very vocal, and loves to roughhouse. She barked at 2.5 weeks! She went to Winnemucca, NV for the Nevada Chukar Foundation's annual Chukar Dinner raffle!

#6, SOLD - "Attitude," was pretty cranky when born, but now loves to be held. She's petite, confident, and curious. Beautiful 90 degree tail and lots of points on the wing. She's living in Concord.

#7, SOLD -"Poky," is the smallest male and is even tempered—not too aggressive and not too laid back. He's living in his new home in Gridley.

PUPPY CALENDAR
Birth - Week 3

3rd week - November 27
Started standing, and, by end of week, walking! Lots of play with growling and barking, and nipping on momma's legs and ears. Females, #1, 4, 5, & 6 are fastest maturing. #5 was first to growl and bark and loves to roughhouse. #4 is a lovergirl and cute as a bug's ear. See week 3 (10 photos).

2nd week - November 20
Very active and hearty eaters, pups are getting fat and eyes started to open 11/24! View their second week (5 photos).

1st week - November 13
Puppies were born healthy and active. Their personalities are already starting to show, and we'll post comments as they develop.

Puppy Calendar
Weeks 4-8

8th week - January 1
Pups turned 7 weeks old on New Year's Day. Remaining pups, "Alpha" and "Art" had their first taste of training: walking in tall grass and being on the chain gang. Art had his first walk on a leash!

7th week - December 25
Pups turned 6 weeks old on Christmas day. Fully weaned, they will be ready for their homes on 12/27. Take a look at them with their Christmas wing.

6th week - December 18
Beginning their 6th week, pups enjoyed their outdoor kennel in the day, and slept indoors at night. The weather warmed up and now they're outside full time. They love it and we hear no complaints! Introduction to a wing generated a lot of excitement and a few points!

5th week - December 11
Lots of play and exploration. Weaning began mid-week, along with being in the outdoor kennel in the day. They love being outdoors and discovering the wildlife. They are sure to be bird dogs!

4th week - December 4
Teeth are coming in! Weaning will begin soon. Pups tool around the pen steadily and quickly. Their eyes are focusing, they respond to our voices, and are trying to escape their pen. View week 4 (10 photos).
