Lockhard's Gunner
Miss Millie's 2007 pup #7

Gunner at 4 months. Click for big and more (4 photos).
I would like to thank you for selling me an AMAZING bird dog. Words can't explain how happy and satisfied I am with Gunner. I followed your directions of how to train my dog to be an outstanding bird dog, and it's working! At 12-13 weeks old, Gunner was not only pointing, but he was holding a point to my command of "whoa!!!" It simply amazes me of how smart, and how well he performs during a training session. I realize how important it is to have "that leash" on him while training. Again, words can't explain how impressed and satisfied I am with my dog Gunner, and I can tell you now, when I'm ready for another Short Hair, I am going straight to you with no hesitation. I HIGHLY recomend ANYONE, who is looking for an outstanding bird dog, to purchase a Short Hair from you. Hands down, you are the best breeder I have ever seen! Thank you again for blessing me with a dog that brings SOOO much joy and happiness to my life. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Lockhard's Target
Miss Millie's 2006 pup #2

Lockhard's Target in the field with Odys. Click
for big.
Just thought I'd send you a short note. Been
taking Target out to my club the last few weeks and letting him
go. Doing great, runs like hell—so much energy! Working on
ranging closer, as he's using his nose more and more he's getting
a lot more methodical in the way he works in front of me. Retrieves,
although this week was the first time I shot pheasant for him, it
took him a while to pick up that big ole bird. The hen he's pointing
in the pic he got that scent a good 100 yards away. The wind was
blowing pretty good and he just started wiggling that tail (you
know) and was on a mission driving forward and weaving back and
forth until he zeroed in on it. I was running up that damn hill
trying to get my camera, got the pic just in time for the bird to
fly, threw my camera down grabbed the gun and dropped the bird.
I was worn out after that!! Then I had to find my camera. Anyway,
looks like you've been busy with new pups and all.
Take care, Mark, Target and Odys

Lockhard's Bruiser
Started Dog (Lockhard's Gus' 2007 pup)

Lockhard's Bruiser loves his life. We are happy when our dogs go to homes with lots of love, attention, & birds! Click for big and more (2 photos).
We just wanted to send a couple pictures of Bru, and give you a little update. In this picture, he is enjoying hugs and attention from "Dad". He is such a good boy in the house. It's hard to see from just a couple pictures, but he is happy, exuberant, intelligent, funny, sleek, and the picture of health. He has certainly won our hearts. I would take more pictures of him outside, but he rarely holds still long enough! He loves to be out, exploring all the wonderful sights and smells on the property. He also loves to ride in the Jeep. Bru had a very good pheasant season, and is constantly trying to hunt up something on the property. He very nearly caught a tom turkey that lingered just a moment too long. Bru is the fastest animal I've ever seen! I wish you could have seen the look on his face when he saw that turkey - a mixed look of astonishment that said "What the hell is that?!!!"
Love to you both, Michele & Fred |
