Lockhard Training Success Stories
Sometimes we come across a dog in training that we want to tell you about because their success may help you understand why we find this work so rewarding. It could be a dog that shows a marked positive change from when they first came to Lockhard. Or it could be a dog that shows a breakthrough that just makes us so darn proud we want to brag. Sometimes the success teaches us a lesson and it's an AHA! moment for us. We find that we are continually learning from the dogs we train, and that will only help us become better trainers for you and your dog.

Duke came to us for a six week training session and we soon discovered that he was a bit hard-headed. He is a Golden Retriever, but as tough as any Chesapeake we have ever trained. Duke was a good boy, but wanted to do things his way. With lots of patience and a couple of extra weeks to polish his skills, he went home a duck dog: loves the retrieve and holding steady in blind situations. He is eager for his first year of duck hunting. When Dad, Lance came to pick him up, he showed like a champion in the field. More importantly, he is a good dog at home and is continuing to work well with Lance. Duke is one of our success stories: a great kennel dog, best friend and hard worker! We miss you Duke!
